This summer’s Community Art Project uses a material we have all had a lot of in our lives over the past year: masks. Perhaps you have an abundant supply and you are wondering what to do with it now that you are vaccinated. Perhaps you are still wearing your masks, but would like to explore some of the thoughts and feelings that come along with that act. In the past, we have centered our Community Art Projects around a common material, but this time we are opening it up to explore a theme. You are welcome to use masks as a material, but you can also use the idea as a jumping off point. As always in our Community Art Projects, the only limit is your imagination! Artists who would like to participate should bring their finished pieces to the Library by July 26, where they will be displayed until August 7. We will hold an online auction of all pieces, ending on August 7, with all proceeds benefiting the Library. We cannot wait to see what our creative community comes up with!
