Woods Hole Public Library will offer a course consisting of 5 classes for people who want to learn how to keep honey bees. The course will be taught by Falmouth beekeeper Anne Richards, who has been keeping bees for almost 20 years and is enrolled in the Master Beekeeper program at Cornell  University. Topics will include honey bee biology and behavior, beekeeping methods and equipment, dealing with pests and diseases, seasonal management, nutrition and feeding, planting for pollinators, harvesting products of the hive, and more. Classes will meet on Thursday evenings, 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Woods Hole Public Library, beginning February 15 and ending March 14. The fee for the course is $80 ($40 for under 18), which includes 5 classes and first-year membership in the Barnstable County Beekeepers Association. Registration is required.
