The Woods Hole Public Library will again be holding a book group led by librarian Kellie Porter, who
holds a Masters Degree in English, specializing in Victorian literature. People may remember her popular book group from last year which studied the most recent translation of the “Odyssey”.

This year she has chosen as her subject “Lesser Known Works by Well Known Authors”. The first book which will be discussed is “Villette” by Charlotte Bronte. Kellie claims that this title is actually her very favorite Bronte novel, which says a lot, since she is a big fan of “Jane Eyre“. The “Villette” discussion will be held on February 13 from 4-5 PM.

Readers should call the Library to sign up since the number of participants will be limited. People should have finished the book before coming to the meeting. Several copies are available from the CLAMS Library network and the Woods Hole Public Library may order them for the registrants for pick-up if requested. The group will meet once a month in February, March and April on the second Thursday of the month from 4-5 PM.

The books to be discussed are: “Villette” on February 13, George Orwell’s “Coming Up for Air” on March 12, and Margaret Atwood “Edible Woman” on April 9.
