We are very excited to announce our plans to reopen for curbside pickup of Library materials! We will kick things off with Bring Back Your Books Day on Monday, May 25. From 10AM-12PM, your friendly librarians will be manning a drive-thru book dropoff in the Library’s parking lot. This is your opportunity to bag up your library books, don a mask, and drop them by the library. We know you all have a lot of books to return, so this will give us a chance to wave hello from a safe distance and start getting those materials back home safely. After Monday morning, the book drop will be open and you are welcome to return library materials at any time. Please note, late fees are still being waived, and we will be quarantining materials for a few days after they are returned, so you will see a delay between returning materials and seeing them removed from your account.
Starting on Monday, June 1, we will begin offering curbside pickup of requested library materials. At this time, delivery between libraries is not operating, so patrons will be limited to borrowing books from our shelves only. You may place a hold online through the catalog as usual at clamsnet.org, call us at 508-548-8961, or email us at whpl_mail@clamsnet.org to request items. Staff will be in the building to receive calls Monday-Saturday between 10AM-12PM. After your request has been filled, you will be notified of your pickup day, and your materials will be waiting for you between 10AM-12PM in our contactless, self-serve pickup area.
As with everything these days, we will all have to remain flexible and patient as we work out kinks in the system and figure out this “new normal” together. We’re looking forward to seeing you and hope you and yours are well.
