Come celebrate the creative work of our community artists and bid on a unique work of art to benefit the Woods Hole Public Library! On Saturday, July 22, from 5:30 – 7:00 PM, we will hold a silent auction and party for this summer’s Found in Nature Community Art Project.
The Woods Hole Public Library Community Art Project began in the summer of 2014, when community artists were prompted to create something using discarded books as their medium. Since then, we have used nautical charts, horseshoe crab molts, library catalog cards, and even chairs as an artistic medium. The theme for this summer is “Found in Nature,” and we have invited our community artists to use materials that are found outside in the natural world around us. Submissions to the exhibit are due by July 10, and all are welcome to participate!
