The Woods Hole Public Library will hold their annual holiday book sale, one of the biggest of the year, starting on Saturday, December 6 at 10 AM. On that day, not one, but two rooms in the lower level of the Library will be filled with books for sale. This is due to the greater than ever level of donations to the Library, specifically for the sale. There are many large and beautiful books on photography and  art,  as well as  recently published and copiously illustrated cookbooks included in the new selection. There are also many recently published fiction books. As always, there are discards from the Library collection, moved along to make room for newer books on the Library’s own shelves.

The Book Sale Committee led by retired librarians Camilla Larrey and Susan Fishman keep the sale room in perfect order, making it easy to find non-fiction books by subject and fiction by author.

Many people find the Library Book Sale an ideal place for holiday shopping, making an annual trek especially to find literary treasures. As has been planned in recent years, the first big day is timed to coincide with the Renaissance Fair held in the Woods Hole Community Hall. The doors to the Book Sale will be open longer, though, to 5 PM. After the first big day, the sale will continue through the holiday season in a smaller state, during regular Library hours, which include all late afternoons except for Sunday when the Library is closed.
