The Woods Hole Public Library will be offering a workshop in making traditional Korean Lotus Lanterns by way of a Zoom presentation on April 16 at 4 PM. The lotus flower is one of the most important symbols in both Korean culture, and its traditional religions. This workshop is presented by The Korean Spirit and Culture Promotion Project (“KSCPP”) whose mission since 2005 has been to promote greater awareness and understanding of Korean history and culture. Their workshop in making lotus flower lanterns is coming to Falmouth by way of a virtual Zoom class. The workshop will be followed by a documentary film about this traditional paper craft and its place in Korean cultural history.

The  Library has a limited number of lantern kits which will be provided free of charge to the first thirty people who register. The kits include a frame, petals, leaves and glue.  Interested people should call 508-548-8961 or email whpl_mail@clamsnet.org to register for the Zoom presentation and reserve a kit, which will be available for pick-up at the Library during regular library hours.
