We will kick off our series of Winter Travel Talks with local resident Barbara Blair sharing her experience walking the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. Last summer she walked from north eastern Spain westward to the northwest corner at Santiago. Barbara traveled alone, so had only the company of other trekkers as they passed each other by. In ancient times, the pilgrims’ route featured overnight lodging mostly in monasteries. Barbara did indeed stay in monasteries, but also in small inns in the small towns the route traveled through. She will share pictures and stories from her experience, and all are welcome to come travel along from the comfort of our downstairs meeting room!
