Beginning on July 1, outside pickup of requested library materials is available Monday-Saturday, between the hours of 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Delivery between libraries is now up and running again, so you are now able to request and receive materials from any CLAMS library. You may place a hold online through the catalog as usual at clamsnet.org, call us at 508-548-8961, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request items. Staff will be in the building to receive calls Monday-Saturday between 10:00 AM-2:00 PM. After your request has been filled, you will be notified of your pickup day, and your materials will be waiting for you between 10:00 AM-2:00 PM in our contactless, self-serve pickup area near the book drop.
If the weather cooperates, look for our Pop-Up Library in the courtyard! We’ll have carts of new books to browse and a real, live librarian to talk to! We hope to expand our services over the summer to include wireless printing, limited browsing, and a selection of used books for sale.
Items available for contactless pickup include books, DVDs, music CDs, audiobooks on CD, magazines, and even games from our Library of Things. If parents are missing being able to browse the children’s room with their kids to pick out a big stack of books for the week, let us know what your kids are interested in and we would be happy to put together a big book haul for you! For patrons of all ages, we are happy to help you find that next great read. If you’d like us to include a few “librarian picks” in with your book pickup, just ask!
The book drop is open and you are welcome to return library materials at any time. Please note, late fees are still being waived, and we will be quarantining materials for 1 day after they are returned, so you will see a delay between returning materials and those materials being removed from your account.
As with everything these days, we will all have to remain flexible and patient as we work out kinks in the system and figure out this “new normal” together. We’re looking forward to seeing you and hope you and yours are well.
