The Woods Hole Public Library is holding their second annual Adornments and Accessories Sale of new and gently used jewelry and accessories for men and women. The Library invites donations of women’s jewelry, scarves, hats, belts, and sunglasses. They are also accepting donations of men’s ties, belts, sunglasses and hats (but not baseball caps).
Last year’s participants jumped at the chance to divest themselves of extra items from their collections, as well as purchasing new ones at bargain prices. Both rooms in the lower level of the library will again be filled with an attractive display of the donations, beckoning to purchasers. Expectations are high for a repeat of a last year’s time of sharing, with eager buyers creating a scene reminiscent of Filene’s basement.
The Accessory committee is also looking for very special items which could be used in a silent auction. Last year, vintage men’s hats in boxes, as well as a cashmere wrap and hat from two local businesses were used in this way. All proceeds will benefit the Library.
Donations may be dropped off at the Library whenever it is open, which include all afternoons after 3, as well as Wednesday mornings. For a complete list of open hours or for questions, call the Library at 508-548-8961.
