Just a few days before the 43rd running of the Falmouth Road Race, the first book written entirely about the event will makes its debut in town. Author Paul Clerici has been researched details of his subject in local archives of newspapers and museums, as well as interviewing many people directly involved in the race, either as runners or organizers. Now he is proud to present his volume “A History of the Falmouth Road Race, Running on Cape Cod” on Wednesday, August 12 at 7:30 PM at the Woods Hole Public Library. The Library and the adjacent Woods Hole Historical Museum, the host of this presentation, are located right on the Road Race’s course, at the first bend in the road as the runners leave Woods Hole village, so it is particularly fitting that the book’s journey should start here too.
The book includes over 40 years of stories, anecdotes, tales and tidbits, and dozens of interviews. It features nearly 80 photographs that span the decades, some published here for the first time.
The book has been published by the History Press and Arcadia Publishing and will be available for sale and signing at the event.
