The Armchair Traveler Book Group is heading to Columbia in November, with a discussion of Patricia Engel’s Infinite Country on Saturday, November 9, at 3:00 pm. This lyrical novel takes readers from Houston to Bogotá and back again as it follows a young couple as they weigh their allegiance to the past, the future, to one another, and to themselves. Rich with Bogotá urban life, steeped in Andean myth, and tense with the daily reality for the undocumented in America, Infinite Country is the story of two countries and one mixed-status family. It offers an intimate perspective on an experience that so many have endured—and are enduring right now.
Copies of the book are available to pick up at the Woods Hole Public Library, and all are welcome to join in the discussion.
