The Woods Hole Public Library Armchair Traveler Book Group will set sail for the South Pacific with a discussion of Miss Benson’s Beetle by Rachel Joyce on Saturday, April 19, at 3pm. Set in 1950, this moving and off-beat historical adventure follows two unlikely friends from London to the shores of New Caledonia in search of a golden beetle that may or may not exist. Joyce’s keen sense of observational humor and her well developed characters make for a captivating book that will transport readers to both post-war England and the jungles of New Caledonia.
