Event Details

scarecrows_coverCathy Henrich, who is most familiar to locals as an energetic and devoted pre-school teacher, has now become an author. Her book, The Scarecrows of Bourne Farm , is illustrated by her daughter Aime Webb’s photographs, and has been published in conjunction with the Bourne Farm.

She will launch the book in Woods Hole at the Public Library on Wednesday, September 30, at 11 AM. Cathy will read from the book and talk about her experience writing the story. In addition there will be a related craft for young children. Books will be for sale and Cathy and Amie will both be available to sign copies.

All proceeds from the book sales will go towards the maintenance of the Bourne Farm property. Special thanks to the Falmouth Foundation and the Gordon T. Heald Fund for their generous grants that helped to fund this project.

Bourne Farm, established in 1775, is on the National Register of Historic places, and is owned by Salt Pond Areas Bird Sanctuaries, a local non-profit land preservation organization.  This event is free and open to the public.
