Event Details

As in previous years, the Library is not allowed, by the lease arrangements for public viewing of the films, to name the title or actors or much of any specific details of the film in any publicity release, so the Library has instituted a policy of giving hints.

This film just won The Academy Award’s Best Picture of the Year and the Academy Award for Best Director, Best Music (Original Score), and for Best Production Design. The story is part science fiction, part romance, and part adventure. It takes place in a fictional Aerospace Research Center in Baltimore and focuses on a “discovery” from the Amazon. People have described the film as “an enrapturing and reverberating work of art”, “a haunting, heartbreaking love story,” and “never less than magnificent.” The film has been rated R and runs for 2 hours and 3 minutes.

The Library is offering this event to the public free of charge, and it will be held in the Library’s lower level meeting room which is easily handicapped accessible. For more details, feel free to call the Library at 508-548-8961.

The film will be shown again on Wednesday, April 4 at 1 PM.
