The Woods Hole Public Library is excited to welcome back author and mycologist Larry Millman for another fun and informative mushroom walk on Saturday, March 9, at 2:00 PM. The walk will take place in Beebe Woods and will focus on finding and identifying mushrooms and lichen that are typically found in the woods at this time of year. Many people may not think there is not much fungal activity to be found in the winter, but Larry has a keen eye and is an expert at finding and identifying species that are easily missed. (Please note: this walk will not focus on edible mushrooms.)

Interested mushroom hunters should call the Library at 508-548-8961 or email whpl_mail@clamsnet.org to reserve a place on the walk. The group will meet in the unpaved “Hiker’s Lot” to the right of the Cape Cod Conservatory building, and the walk will last approximately 2 hours.

Lawrence Millman is a nature writer, ethnographer, poet, arctic explorer and mycologist.
