We will continue our discussion of Plato’s Republic with Books V-VII on Tuesday, September 1, from 6pm – 7:30pm. Participants should be prepared to discuss Books I through VII. All are welcome to join in, regardless of how many previous discussions you have attended.
The Republic seeks answers to the timeless questions of the definition of justice and the origins of tyranny. Despite being written around 375 BC, it is still one of the wildest and most radical works of political philosophy ever written. Justin Reynolds, PhD and Ana Keilson, PhD of the Gull Island Institute will lead the discussion.
