The Lead Pencil Poets will once again present an evening of poetry at the Woods Hole Public Library on Monday, August 28, at 6:30 PM. This quartet of local poets consists of Eric H. Edwards, Mary Kane, Jim Morgan, and Judith Richardson.
Eric H. Edwards, who has a funny reason for using his middle initial, first read at the Library in the sixties. Over the years he has been joined by various luminaries like Padraic Colum, Herman Ward, Kate Nace, and Robert Holman. He now reads mostly with the clutch of other poets and writers published by One Bird Books. His latest book is Black Apple, collected Prose Poems 1975 to 2022. Mary Kane is a Falmouth poet and writer who teaches at Mass Maritime. She is the Editor in Chief of One Bird Books, an inveterate walker, and her most recent book is In the Book I’m Reading. Jim Morgan is a retired professor of English and lead guitarist for the band CapeCoda. HIs most recent book, Crows, will be available soon from One Bird Books. Judith Benét Richardson has written poetry and children’s books. She has been a member of Lead Pencil for many years, after finding her fellow Boston University writing program students in Falmouth. Her latest book is The Ant and the Map and her next poem to be published will be Christmas Geese in the journal Women’s Studies.
The evening promises to be a literary delight. All are welcome to attend, and the poets will have books available for purchase.
