The Woods Hole Public Library has begun a new season of its Social Justice Book Club.
The book club was formed in the summer of 2016 by summer resident Ruth Gainer who is continuing to lead the group and its discussions this year as well. All the books chosen for the group focus on issues of poverty, racism and the justice system. This year, Ruth has expanded the program so there will be a total of four books read and discussed. In each case copies of the book will be available at the Woods Hole Library, and also at Eight Cousins Books, for those who wish to own their own copy. The books are all recent releases.
The first discussion was on June 27. The book chosen for discussion that night was The Color of Law, a Forgotten History of How our Government Segregated America by Richard Rothstein.
