The Woods Hole Public Library will begin its summer season of Wednesday morning storytimes with a special Storytime and Puppet Playtime on Wednesday, July 2, at 10:30 am. Charlie and Lola, the beloved characters from Lauren Child’s series of picture books, will be brought to life by whimsical puppets created by Jacek Zuzanski. The Children’s Room of the Woods Hole Library will transform into a puppet playground for Charlie and Lola’s adventures in “But Excuse Me That is My Book,” as the characters explore the library in search of a book for Lola. This playful storytelling experience is perfect for kids as well as grown-ups who love books, puppets, and a little library magic!
Jacek Zuzanski is the founder and artistic director of Dream Tale Puppets, an ensemble of mostly Cape Cod artists dedicated to the study of both traditional and innovative styles of puppetry. The theatre has presented its productions in Massachusetts and beyond throughout the past 20 years. This summer the group will present a series of programs at the Woods Hole Community Hall: “Build Your Own Toy Theatre Workshop”, Thursday, July 3rd; “Three Little Pigs and After Show Workshop”, Sunday, July 6th; “Jack and the Beanstalk”, Saturday, July 12th; “Alice, or the Red King’s Dream”, Friday, July 18th. Check the website: dreamtalepuppets.org for more information.
This special storytime on July 2 kicks off the Woods Hole Public Library’s Preschool Storytime series for the summer. Every Wednesday morning, at 10:30am, kids and their caregivers are invited to listen to a few stories in the Library’s cheerful Children’s Room. Kids of all ages are welcome, but the books will be geared toward preschool-aged children.
