The Woods Hole Public Library is preparing for its big Summer book sale, to be held on Saturday, August 19, from 10 AM-5PM. The shelves on the wall of the room used for the book sale are already bursting at the seams. By the day of the sale, hundreds more books will be brought in, displayed on tables set up throughout the room.
One of the great attractions of this sale is that the books are sorted by type. Two of the leaders of the book sale committee are retired librarians, so the careful arrangement is only natural! Sections of the shelves are devoted to history, biography, natural history, cooking, gardening, children’s, and other subjects. Most of the new additions to be put on the tables are particularly alluring, and include brand new fiction and local books, all perfect for gift giving or summer reading.
The sale will include lots of gardening, craft and cookery books, as well as recent handsome children’s books. The Library will move some of its recently discarded titles into the sale. A new collection of bird books and coffee table art books will be featured. As always, prices are very reasonable, with a standard of $2 for hard-backs and $1 for large paper-backs. Special books will have special, slightly higher prices.
After opening day, the sale will continue until Labor Day, only during the Library’s regular open hours, which include every late afternoon from Monday through Saturday.
