New date! This event was originally scheduled for July 18, but has now been rescheduled to Thursday, July 25, at 6pm.
The Woods Hole Public Library will screen a revival of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing on Thursday, July 25, at 6:00pm. The production was captured at Wyndham’s Theatre in London’s West End, playing to sold-out houses and receiving wide critical acclaim. Directed by Josie Rourke, it stars David Tennant as Benedick and Catherine Tate as Beatrice. Set in early 1980’s Gibraltar, the spiffy navy uniforms, clear class distinctions and high-spirited post-Falklands partying lend a fun modern context to the plot and verbal sparring of this classic Shakespeare comedy. The running time is approximately 2 hours 40 minutes. This event is free and open to the public, and will be screened in the Library’s lower level Community Room.
