Veteran travelers Maggie and Terry Rioux have been touring various corners of the world for years, more frequently since they have both retired. They often travel with the Road Scholar program, a pleasing mix of education and travel, and report back to the community through the Woods Hole Public Library’s series of Winter Travel Talks.
They will talk about their recent trip to Newfoundland and Labrador. They were part of a group of about 20 “on a wonderfully adventuresome cruise” on board the 200-passenger ship Ocean Endeavor in a circumnavigation of Newfoundland with brief stops in Labrador and France (the island of St. Pierre).
As always, Maggie will share much of the fascinating information they have learned, illustrated with their wonderful photographs. She points out that this is Canada’s youngest province, having joined the Confederation in 1948, adding that “In particular, the island of Newfoundland is filled with wonderful geology, history, and spectacular scenery”.
