Event Details

On Saturday, August 8, at 2 PM the Woods Hole Public Library will run a simplified “woodcut workshop” for children aged 6 and up. This event is scheduled to co-ordinate with the on-going exhibit of the art of Lucy Swope, who creates tiny books, using her own woodcuts to illustrate her stories.

Although all the materials in this children’s program are simple, it is hoped that the children will understand the basic principles of woodcuts as a result of the hands-on techniques they will use in creating their own work of art. This session will be led by the librarians, and will use softer materials to create their prints. For more information, call the Library at 508-548-8961.
